As you may be aware the Government are currently consulting on proposals to change the schedules for MOT’s from 3 years for the first MOT and every year to 4 years for the first MOT and every year the so-called 4-1-1 schedule.

Data shows that in 2021 over 300,000 vehicles failed their first MOT, extended the first MOT to 4 years will undoubtedly lead to an increase in unsafe vehicles being on the road.

It is our belief that these changes will result in more accidents, injuries and even deaths.

If the petition gets more than 10,000 signatures the government will be forced to respond to the concerns raised by the industry.
